Discover the site
Between the Lake of Neuchâtel and the Jura mountains, in a region criss-crossed by cultures for centuries, is the Castrum Eburodunense, built in 325 AD under Constantine the Great. Visits to the site are now enhanced by new technology: you can use your own tablet or take one out from the Tourist Information Office or the Museum of Yverdon to experience a heightened sense of reality on visits to the fortress ruins. You can also explore the finds which have been made in the course of excavations of the site and are on display in the museum. With its rich cultural and natural heritage and its many seasonal activities, the region around Yverdon-les-Bains is also a great area to explore at all times of the year.
Activities
Take a tablet from the Tourist Office or the Museum and discover the Late Roman ruins of the Castrum, as if you were there more than a thousand years ago! Visits of a special kind will be organised on the site during the month of November.
Directions for your visit: From the Tourist Office, go towards the Place Pestalozzi and castle, where the visit using scripted augmented reality starts.
