Activities
The Iron Age mound groups on the Schaltenrain are not accessible via official hiking trails. The hike can be started from the Albert-Anker House to the Hasenburg and the burial mounds, and can continue towards the Schalenstein and the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Lüscherz. This will take approximately 2.5 hours.

The impressive medieval castle ruins lie on a steep spur, hidden between deep ditches and streams, with its rare traces of stone walls, residential terraces and a fortification clearly visible. It is one of the largest castle complexes in Switzerland, measuring 350 m in length.
